Honoring Our Loved Ones Through Service—The Heart of Connected Cloth

Hello Connected Cloth Family,

As we begin this blog, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and understanding during what has been an incredibly challenging time for our family. In our last update, we shared the sorrow of losing our beloved father and grandfather--may his legacy live on in the spirit that drives Connected Cloth. Taking time away from business to care for him and to reflect on our loss has been an important journey, one that continues to shape both our family and our company. Yet, amid these hardships, we’ve drawn strength from one another and our mission here at Connected Cloth.

Recently, our hearts have been heavy once again. We said goodbye to my father’s brother. This man lit up the room and always told it how it was. Then, next month, we lost the beloved matriarch of my mother’s side—a remarkable woman who graced this world for 96 vibrant years. She embodied the meaning of service, always seeking ways to uplift those around her. Whether it was finding resources, lending an understanding ear, or simply being a steadfast presence in her community, she made a profound impact. Her legacy will be measured by the multitude of lives she touched along the way.

Connected Cloth is a family-run business—a business nurtured by a retired military veteran mom and her two young adult children. In the face of grief and loss, we are compelled to reflect on our lives and what really matters.  Life is truly a gift. Many of us may sometimes feel that something is off and wish things were better, kinder, or fairer.  However, we believe it is up to us to do our part in making things better, kinder, and more just in our small corner of the world.  When we lose someone, we can honor them through remembrance and through our actions. Every kind deed and every hour spent in service of helping others in their name keeps their spirit alive. If we all do our part, we’ll make our corner of the world a better, kinder, and fairer place. 

One Community at a Time

Our mission has remained steadfast: to change the world one community at a time. With every t-shirt, hoodie, or pair of joggers you purchase, we donate an hour of community service in your name or in honor of someone you choose. Recently, we’ve personally dedicated time in memory of those we’ve lost—each act serving as a tribute, a way to communicate, “You mattered. You still matter. Your light is always with us.”

We invite you to join us in this mission. If you’ve lost someone dear, want to celebrate life, or want to make the world better, consider dedicating an act of kindness in their name or for that purpose. If you can’t do the service yourself, allow us to do it for you. That’s what Connected Cloth is all about—doing our part to make the world better, one act at a time. Your personal connection to the cause makes a significant difference, and we are grateful for your involvement.

New Ways to Give Back

We’ve taken your feedback to heart and updated our website. Now, when you make a purchase, you can choose which cause you’d like to support—be it providing food for those in need, supporting youth programs, addressing animal welfare, aiding people experiencing homelessness, assisting victims of domestic violence, or other causes that resonate with you. If you’d like to dedicate multiple hours of service, simply purchase additional items. After your purchase, we’ll follow up to let you know which charitable organization or initiative benefitted from your service hour, all in the name of the person or organization you chose.
